If you don’t know December of last year, our fluffy guy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. As you can imagine, we were completely devastated. We immediately started researching veterinary hospitals and treatments trying to figure out what we could do to help our dude. We traveled to Texas for a CT due to a lack of resources where we live in Missouri. In Texas we learned the extent of his cancer and talked through treatment plans. As we traveled back home, Cody and I just were in a complete state of shock. We got Nitro set up with an oncology team in Illinois where he underwent radiation and chemotherapy. This meant driving to Illinois every week for over a month. So much has happened and I can honestly say our dude is such a fighter. We thought we were somewhat in the clear and his cancer had stabilized, however, last week his scans said otherwise. Unfortunately, his cancer is progressing and spreading. We have exhausted all of our resources and options but unfortunately, because of the kind of cancer that he has and where it’s at, there’s not much we can do. This has been an incredibly hard pill to swallow because he’s in such good spirits, still loves barking at his chickens, and will be right there as soon as you open a bag of chips. So many people have reached out with kind words of encouragement, love, and wanting to help since finding out about Nitro. And I would be lying if I said we weren’t overwhelmed with Vet/treatment bills. It’s currently why we haven’t undertaken any big projects recently and have taken a step back from social media. After much consideration and talking with other channels, We have set up Nitro Man merch! All of the proceeds from the merch are going towards the hefty treatment bills that we have acquired the past few months. We are so grateful for the community we have built across all platforms. Our life has been changed by each and every single one of you guys and we are eternally grateful! As well as we are blown away by the love y’all have shown our dude… every prayer, email, instagram message, comment has brought us so much peace in this very scary time. We appreciate each and every one of you🤍 #dogsoftiktok #doglove #huskysoftiktok #cancersucks
