You might think you are saving a ton of money using these masks at home when you see professional clinics with LED lights talk about the benefits of using them for the skin. In particular for BLUE light, there is a time and place for acne BUT it is a very controlled treatment. It is done only to kill bacteria with a special topical. Outside of acne, blue light can cause havoc with melanocytes and just shouldnt be used in my opinion. Melanocytes produce melanin which darken our skin. An increase in melanin from BLUE LED light can cost you a lot of time and money to correct hyperpigmentation.
