Replying to @someday paper co I recommend using a non-machinable stamp and asking for hand cancelling when mailing wedding invitations with a wax seal. Why? Because I am a Cautious Queen. I’ve mailed single cards with a forever stamp and a wax seal, without issue. Receiving my friend’s save the date from across the country was further proof that this could turn out perfectly for you, too! Here’s one way to save some money on save the dates (and maybe even your entire wedding budget) - but warning, it’s a controversial one! Break your guest list into two categories: First, the people who you absolutely, 100% want to be at your wedding. Second, the people who you feel indifferent about their attendance. Then, print and send save the dates to the first list only. Sending save the dates to just your VIPs will not only decrease your save the date cost (unless everyone ended up on the first list!) but maybe even your total guest count. Controversial?
