Several months ago, I noticed swelling in Ariel's face. Her right eye was weeping. Once I was able to secure a vet appt, it was determined to possibly be cancer. They took two asperates at different times, but nothing was conclusive. They referred me to an oncology vet. They had no appointments for two months! In the meantime, Ariel was sneezing up blood. I called them 2 weeks later in a desperate state, that I can't wait for 2 months for her to be seen. They told me to bring her in as an emergency and she would be triaged. I got her in the next day and they looked over and determined she needed a biopsy, something my regular vet didn't dare do because of the location of the tumor so close to her sinuses. They also took X-Rays . As it turned out, she had an aggressive carcinoma, which had been eating at her skull by the eye sockets. They said it was incurable, but radiation could give her a longer life. And so we agreed. On this day, she has had 11 treatments 4-5 days a week and needs another week and a half. She stays at the hospital during the week, but we bring her home on weekends. When she's gone she sleeps a lot in a hidden area, usually a cat cubby I have in the corner of my office. Her nose sounds stuffed up. This past weekend, she didn't want any food and only came out twice a day to drink water and use the litter box. Tonight, she did eat some and her breathing was better. Ironically, she eats better at the vet. Tomorrow she returns for her last full week of treatment. I did notice her face looks better, the tumor smaller, and she no longer sneezes blood. #catsoftiktok #catcancer #arielcat #arielsjourney #mycat #catcancerjourney
