The Rice University marching band satirized Houston ISD Superintendent Mike Miles Saturday amid a controversial state takeover of the district. Rice's Marching Owl Band, known as The Mob, spoofed the Austin Powers movies by portraying Miles as Dr. Evil in their Saturday halftime performance against Texas Southern University. "Our script producers have friends and acquaintances both as HISD teachers and as parents of students, and they had been outspoken about their feelings," Rice director of bands Chuck Throckmorton told Houston Public Media's Adam Zuvanich when asked about how the band came up with the satirical performance. Replying to @Chron Authorities have released the identity of a woman whose body was found decomposing in the front seat of a car parked in a busy section of Houston's Asiatown. Monica Alcantar, 22, was last seen Aug. 26 leaving the Leawood Condominiums in Southwest Houston, according to ABC 13's Jessica Willey. Her body was found Sunday in a car parked at in a garage near the Dun Huang Plaza on Bellaire Boulevard near Beltway 8. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office hasn't determined Alcantar's cause of death. A 22-year-old woman's body was found decomposing in the front seat of a parked car in Houston's Asiatown, according to police. The car was parked at a busy plaza near Beltway 8 on Bellaire Boulevard when someone made the gruesome discovery Sunday morning, KHOU 11's Anayeli Ruiz reported. Per Ruiz, Houston Police said the body was found in "an advanced stage of composition" indicating that woman's body had been there for a while.
