I met a man today who has been a nurse for the last 34 years. He worked in the ICU, ER, OR. When I told him about my journey outside of the hospital, the first thing he said to me is, “congrats on getting out.” That stung a little. Most nurses don’t leave because they can’t do the job. They leave due the circumstances they’ve fallen too.
