Did you know the sexist history of pockets? Yes, pockets. Historically women’s garments did not have pockets, as they were thought to be utilitarian and not necessary for womenswear. But in the early 1900s, pockets became a symbol of the change women were seeking. Women began to demand clothing with pockets from retailers and womenswear designers.
