Iāve been into #health and #wellness for many years now. Iāve had to navigate #dietculture and through trail and error figure out what works for MY body. What makes me feel less anxious, less depressed, helps with sleep, skin, energy and my hormones. Iāve made some changes recently and Iāve seen some pretty dramatic results. I realized I had a pretty deep addiction to sugar. I would NEED sugar. All the time. To the point where I was really moody when I didnāt have it. But here is the thingā¦ Iād also get MORE anxiety when I ate sugar because my sugar levels would jump and then crash. The glycemic index of food is really important when looking at mental health. Yes, some foods turn into sugar like grains etc but many (whole grains) create a slow glycemic rise which doesnāt cause that fast panic state in people with anxiety. I still eat fruit. The fiber and the way fruit breaks down doesnāt affect the body the way that added sugar does. And donāt be fooledā¦. sugar is still maple syrup, agave etc Iāve been gluten free for 20 years now. Itās not easy at first but itās been worth it for me. A little test is looking at the back of your arms. Oftentimes, those bumps indicate a gluten intolerance. Gluten is a glue like substance that many people have problems digesting. Many of us just live with certain symptoms without knowing we might be intolerant to it. Pescatarian is a vegetarian who eats only fish. I sometimes eat fish because of the omegas for my brain. This form of omegas also dramatically helps my mental health. Iād love to keep sharing about my journey- let me know if this is of interest and comment below! šš»šš»šš»šš» #sugarfree #glutenfree #pescatarian #dayinthelife
