If you dont…the blood line will grow with the nail making it impossible to actually cut them. Since we had such bad luck with other clippers and we have 11 dogs….we weren’t staying on top of their nail grooming. We were frustrated having gone through so many dog nail clippers that have been quick to break and certainly did not include the grinder too.
