I cut my own hair and here is how I dispose of the clippings the eco-friendly way.  If it's over 8 inches long you can donate them so they can make wigs for cancer patients. Some places collect hair for oil spills because it repels water, but collect heavy metals and other contaminants like oil. They used this method for the oil spill in Mauritius. Leaving them on the ground for birds is not really good because it could get wrapped around their legs. Instead I like to add them to my compost bin, I don’t dye my hair and I use a natural shampoo.You could also dig a hole in the garden.
