✨ Earlier today I travelled from Yorkshire to London to pay my respects to HRH The Queen, the best decision. Like so many, it feels so sad and yet surreal but with her life at the forefront of my mind it felt only right to go and even if for just a few hours, pay my respects. ✨ For anyone considering going to see Buckingham Palace or Green Park on a stick or crutch, I would definitely say go, it was a lot of walking but all flat & easy terrain. If you’re looking for something short and sweet steps wise you can go to Green Park (easy on the bus, tube or taxi) and walk straight into the park and floral tribute area, there are hundreds of loos right next to it and the atmosphere was something I’ve never experienced 🙏 ✨ Whilst there is an accessible kiosk opposite Tate Britain where you can request a time slot to visit Westminster Hall and therefore reduce the queue time if you have a disability, the slots are limited and the queue time still potentially very long. As I was only there for a few hours, I didn’t end up having time to go but if anyone has managed to do this please share below - more info on the govt website for anyone who would like to know more ✨ A couple of things I wish I’d known logistics wise: ✨ Buy flowers before you arrive, there are a few cowboys selling supermarket flowers for an extortionate amount next to the park but if you can, pick some up on your way so you don’t need to do this ✨The walkway from St James to Buckingham Palace is quite long, worth doing if you can walk comfortably for 45mins but with no floral tributes outside the palace the only place to see & leave flowers is in Green Park which is a much easier starting point with v little walking. Two things that really stuck with me: ✨ There were so many people and yet we didn’t stand / queue once, it moved the whole time & it was also almost completely silent throughout ✨ The smell of flowers was spine tingling, all the way from the mall to Green Park was the most incredible smell of beautiful flowers ❤️ A completely surreal day but one I will never forget, thank you to The Queen for everything. You will be sorely missed ✨ #QueenElizabethII
