So, after being punished for being “unable to sit still” and being put on long time outs for defending himself again racist / sexual harassment at school (reception)! My son and I decided to embark on an #adventure that involved more #freedom and #nature We were lucky enough to come across a local #forest #school and have been attending here two days a week since. I noticed immediately how #engaged he was and I love that I can attend with him 🥰 Teachers advised us that we couldn’t do three days in school and two in alternative settings and stated that they were not ‘unpaid childminders’. I agreed, but challenged their response by asking “what would happen if we did?” The answer was…nothing “provided his attendance was above 50%” ok so 3/5days = 60% we good boo. Slowly, we both realised that #mainstream #school settings were not for us and continued to seek and #explore alternative routes to #education. I am #happy to say we have found #blackowned #homeschooling #communities in #Manchester and alternative I’m glad I followed my heart. I have been challenged with scrutiny from teachers, authorities and the support network I need to make this happen has been reasonably non-existent. But as my blood dictates, I will not #rest until we are #thriving #free and most all #living. More life & More Blessings ❤️ #taketheleap
