3 things I don’t do anymore as a venue owner: #1) I do not Charge Reschedule Fees. Why? Because I am human first, and I understand Life happens. People usually let me know that something came up early enough, which allows me to reschedule and rebook the original date without any problems. I ask for at least a 60days notice. I have experienced once, someone rescheduled last minute and then ghosted me on the second date as well. It sucks because I turned down other inquiries for both of those dates just to have a NO SHOW twice. I still told her, I do not do refunds, however, I will allow you to transfer your balance paid to another date for up to 1 year.. Next year, she contacted me, I had her put down a deposit for the new date and transferred the original deposit to her balance as well. It worked out, but most people will not invest a lot of money for an event just to let it go. It has to be something really serious. Because I don’t want to add to that stress, I allow reschedules (no refunds). #2) I Do Not Send People a List of Chores. Why? Because in my experience, people are already tired from the stress, set up and event itself. Plus, when people are tired they don’t clean as well which makes me have to do it any way. To avoid wasting both of our time, I ask that you breakdown your things and take every thing you wish to keep. We will take it from there. Clean up assistance is included after every event. #3) I Do Not Require You to Use My Vendors. Why? Because sometimes, people prefer another vendor or prefer to do it themselves to save money. I understand and that is completely okay. We do offer you the flexibility of doing it yourself or we have all the vendors you need so you don’t have to search or worry about anything. Just walk in and be amazed. This is where I stand right now. I am not sure if it will change, but as of now, here we are.
