First off, I want to apologize for the amount of ingredients in this, hopefully, you have most of it on hand, it's totally worth it. 2nd, I gave some to my taste tasters (my family) and my Dad LOVED it, he mostly never gives those types of reviews on anything! So that’s how I know it's a winner! It tastes Like Crawdad boils at my Grandmas house! Serves 6-8 Prep 10 minutes Total 1hr New Bae Soup (Old Bay Soup) ingredients: Olive oil 12oz smoked Sausage, sliced into coins 4 tbsps Old Bay (bae) 1 tbsp Italian seasoning 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp dried dill 1 tsp onion powder ½ tsp allspice Garlic 1 stick butter (8oz) 1lb fresh or frozen shrimp, cleaned and thawed 1 Onion, roughly chopped 3 cups of frozen Potatoes (or boil your own beforehand) 1 red pepper. Roughly chopped 1-2 tsp Red pepper flakes (depending on how spicy you want it) 32oz Chicken broth Salt pepper to taste 2 bay(bae) leaves 2-3 cobs of Corn, cut into little pieces, I cut them into 1inch coins, then cut into 1/4s 6 eggs (hard boil these) -optional Optional garnish, roughly chopped parsley hard Or soft/medium boiled eggs or lemon wedges Tips: Yes, I accidentally added too much old bay but it was still totally fire. For the corn, I cut them into coins, then laid them flat and cut them into ¼’s. It's lowkey the best because those little bites of corn were heaven but leave a little bowl nearby to discard shrimp tails and corn cobs. In a large pot over medium heat, add the oil olive, and sausage followed by the old bay, Italian seasoning, paprika, dill, onion powder, and allspice, cook the sausage on both sides until it’s browned, about 5 minutes on each side. Add the garlic and butter and when the butter has begun to melt, push the sausage to the side, and add your shrimp (If you are nervous about cross contamination (I wasn’t) cook the sausage and shrimp separately). Cook the shrimp just like the sausage for about 3-5 minutes on each side. When everything is fully cooked mix to until coated, remove the proteins with a slotted spoon onto a clean plate. And set aside while we make the base. To the pot, Add the onion to the melted butter, along with the potatoes and pepper, to cook and slightly brown for about 10-15 minutes. Season with red pepper flakes for a little heat, and reduce to a simmer, add the broth slowly while mixing. Add the corn and bay leaves along with the protein, let simmer for 10-20 more minutes, to reheat everything, and let it sit in its feelings. garnish with some hard-boiled eggs and fresh parsley, and enjoy! #baesoup #soupbae #cajunsoup #oldbay #notanad
