They are so kind to each other 🥰 Looked a bit like they swam into the fjord to relax and watch tourists on the road 😂 Would you kill these whales to eat them? 🐋 Here in the Faroe Islands, Whales and Dolphins are driven into a bay or onto the beach by boats to be killed in the summer months (not necessarily these Beluga whales seen here) 🐬 This 'tradition' has been criticized by animal welfare organizations for many years as being unnecessarily cruel ☝️ I completely agree with that but also find it interesting how we just consider certain animals worthy of not killing. For a lot of people this might include whales, dogs and many more. At the same time we keep cows, pigs and chicken in captivity to eat them 🐮 For these people in the Faroe Islands the animals that are considered food are just different to ‘ours’ 🐳 I don’t want to judge these individual practices but rather want to inspire to think completely different about how we eat 😊 We exploit animals not because we have to but just because we can. I’m sure we will find a way to use this position of power much more wisely in the future. And who knows, we might also live much healthier, help our planet to cool down and give much more people access to food on the way ☺️ #whales #dolfin #vegan #plantbased #faroeislands
