SWA denied our dog and the worst part was this... We’ve been loyal Southwest Airlines customers for over 10 years. We’ve earned their companion pass and A-List status for many of those years (basically SWA’s highest frequent flyer/loyalty status) and we have never had a negative experience as insulting as this. Yes, I know Southwest has a policy about traveling with pets and that it states on their website that, “The cat or dog must be completely inside the pet carrier and be able to stand up and move around the carrier with ease.” However it seems that the enforcement of this rule is arbitrary and dependent on the agent you happen to come across and their supervisor. We’ve never had issues flying with our 20 lb miniature Schnauzer before this incident and we saw a number of other dogs that were about the same size get past Southwest’s arbitrary screening process. The most insulting part of this entire stressful ordeal was how the SWA supervisor spoke down to me and my daughters. The supervisor’s condescending tone was unnecessary. I stayed as calm as I could during this stressful encounter wanting to discuss the matter, but she refused to answer any of my questions. Southwest, if you are going to enforce your policies, do so uniformly and with a little more kindness. You can deny our dog from flying, because that’s your policy, but apply that policy all the time and to everyone else AND don’t treat loyal customers like crap in the process. #dogdad #lovemydog #dogsoftiktok #fyp
