I wanted to elaborate on this post- for Limb Loss Awareness Month. Being a double amputee, and setting out “on foot” into property Ive never seen before, determined to cross anything in my way to get where I wanted to look for antlers. I did it, and it was a sucessfull hunt. Its so possible to live whatever kind of life you want after limb-loss. The hard work in the beginning stages of prosthetics and/or recovery/adapting to life is so exponentially worth it in the long run. I promise. I make a lot of jokes because my story is heavy. Sometimes we don’t realize how much people go through just to get out of bed. But every time I reach for my prosthetic leg or a wheelchair (due to my injuries from the Boston Marathon 💣) I am reminded of why I continue to fight. Because I REFUSE to let evil win. There are so many things that can knock us down right when we are at the top of our mountain.
