from my poetry book, “If Hearts Had Training Wheels,” available on Amazon❤️ I feel like I should say another “goodbye” to remind myself, this is the end. I haven’t seen much “good” come from our “byes,” but until I do, I’ll just pretend. I don’t see you in every day and night sky. I don’t look for you when cars like yours pass by. I don’t smile at the thought of you, and afterwards, I don’t begin to cry. I don’t wonder how your days have been, I don’t notice your absence from mine. I don’t hope to see your name light up my phone, I don’t wait up in case it might. I don’t ever look out my window and wish to see you standing there— with open arms and an open heart for only you and I to share. I don’t write any words about you, I don’t feel the need to preserve you in my art. I don’t think of you in almost every second we’re apart. I don’t see you in anything, and I don’t feel like I should say goodbye. But this isn’t truth or dare, and everything I wish was true is all a lie. The truth is, everything I see looks like you; each day feels like a broken game of “I Spy.” I will always want to see and say more to you, but I feel like I should just say, “goodbye.” And know “good” will come to us both again— and this time, it’ll just say, “hi.” ————————— 🎵 music: The Wisp Sings - Winter Aid #poetry #poem #lovequotes #poetrylovers #poetrycommunity #poemoftheday #spokenword #spokenwordpoetry #movingonpoems #movingonquotes #affirmations #lovepoems #relationshipquotes #womenquotes #womenpoetry #breakuppoetry #selfrealization poetry, love poetry, love poems, spoken word, spoken word poetry, poetry book, bookstagram, book recs, book aesthetic, quotes on love, heartbreak poetry, heartbreak quotes, breakup quotes, self-worth, cinematography, videography, travel writer, inspirational quotes, self love, motivational quotes, writers life, writing lifestyle, women authors, poetess, bookstagram, book community, reading, visual poetry, women writers, female writers, sad poems, heartbreak poetry, sad poetry, breakup poetry
