Me & my skin have been on a wild ride this week, starting with a red & inflammed full #facerash 🫠 So I gathered all my #skinbarrierrepair baes & got to work! When my skin is irritated & irritable (like me sometimes) I basically layer & sandwich #hydration & #moisture onto my skin. It might seem excessive to my ‘normal’ skin gang but when you’re up against a #dryskincondition then it’s very much about building the best defence to avoid those sore #drypatches. I cleansed with an oil to prevent too much skin friction if that makes sense? I didn’t want to awaken the rashy beast who was lurking under the surface ready to pounce. I got this one in Japan from #Fancl & I love it, but if you’re UK based I also rate the #Byoma one. I then #doublecleansed with one of my go-to #creamcleansers which is more of a runny #lotion, again avoiding that skin dragging. It’s called #Avene #Tolerance Control Extremely #GentleCleanser for Very #SensitiveSkin & basically the name says it all! I also like the the #LaRochePosay #Toleriane #DermoCleanser, another great soothing formula that cleanses without stripping away moisture. Their #Cicaplast B5 spray is a great way to deliver #skin lrepairing ingredients to your skin without having to touch it. #Eczemawarriors this will be your bestie when you’re in a #flareup. I then layer up on moisture starting with a #thickcream. This #Exasoothe (#eczemacontrol in the US) one by #Murad is specifically formulated for those with #eczemaproneskin. I follow that up with a balm, I picked this one up in Japan from #Curel & I don’t think it’s available here but something like #Aveeno #OatRichBalm is also a winner. Then to seal all that hydration & moisture in I do a bit of skin slugging with the #Cerave #AdvancedRepairOintment (#healingointment in the US) which is finally available in the UK 🙌🏼 I have been getting everyone & anyone to bring this back from the States for me for years! I will reapply this #ointment again before bed. I also use it throughout the day. It essentially forms a shield on my skin which creates the best environment for my #skinbarrier to repair itself & prevents #transepidermalwaterloss because we want to retain all that lovely hydration!
