Hope you'll find the signed copies! ✨ When Not Here to Stay first came out, it never really hit the bookstores. It was deemed as not having enough demand. Fun fact the book sold 100 copies under 3 minutes and the 1st edition launch was sold out within one hour online during the launch day. So whatever "not enough demand" really means, I'm not sure. It took me a relaunch of Not Here to Stay under my name (self-published) and Iman as my distributor for Not Here to Stay to be taken seriously. It was never handed out to me like a package like what would happen if you publish under a credible publisher. The thing about being a local author is that you always have to advocate for your books. It feels like constantly having to shout to be heard. As someone who hates confrontation this was a nightmare. But I did it for the readers who might just walk into a bookstore, see my book and find home in it. Maybe they're the ones I wrote for. I now speak of what I went through in summaries and as much as I hate downplaying what it took to get here, it is what it is. The answer is yes and no at the same time bcs it is the worst case "what if" scenario of the true story. What if they did more? What if they end up married? The story was on that basis instead of an autibiography. I also alrered so much to preserve the privacy of the person I wrote about. Some of the dialogues, especially the terrible ones, are direct quotes. But it should not matter who it is about. What matters is how much this happens in real life.
