5 lessons God taught me this year 👇🏾 God is always close; it's us who often move away. This is the first year I was serious and intentional about my relationship with God. I used to be a 'God knows my heart' and 'I'll get serious when I grow up' type of girl, but everything changed this year and these are a few things I’ve learned so far… 1️⃣ You have to get to know God for yourself! I used to rely on others or an idea I had of God, but it wasn't until I started reading the Bible for myself and praying consistently that I got to know and experience Him. 2️⃣ You can't expect real change with 'fake' prayers. I used to keep it cute with God, avoiding how I really felt, but the moment I put my pride aside and started praying honest prayers about how I truly felt and the things I was going through, that's when I noticed a shift! 3️⃣Obedience is key. I used to be super stubborn, it was my way or no way. Now I know it's God's way or no way 😭, and if it's not from God, I don't want it 😩. 4️⃣No one's coming to save you - because Jesus already has. I used to think it was all on me, and if I wanted something, I had to do it myself. Don't get me wrong; I'm all about hard work, but the hustle and grind culture is doing us a disservice. The power of prayer and the FAVOR of God have done more for me than I could've done for myself! 5️⃣Love conquers all 🥺❤️. In a 'disappear and work on yourself' society, God has shown me the power of community and God-ordained connections. If I had to sum up 2023 in one word, it would be LOVE. God opened my heart to receive and give so much love this year. I can now find happiness in the smallest moments and peace amidst chaos because, no matter the situation, 'greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world' ❤️." 💭Comment: What is one lesson God taught you this year?
