A nurse walked into our hospital room and I can still remember what she said. While everyone was amazed at baby boy weighing 11lbs 8oz, a nurse reminded me how precious time is. She was in awe just like the others and although he was and is a big healthy baby boy, she said, “Can you believe that is the smallest he’ll ever be?” My heart melted in that moment. All the feels of wanting to cherish it all even while being exhausted and just had major surgery hours earlier. I didn’t want these precious moments to slip away so fast.
