Luna is still here, she continues to fight. Luna continues to make this path her own and on her own timeline. There isn’t much to update on, other than we have used some more meds to keep her comfortable. She is still on very low doses compared to other patients. Her palliative team is AMAZING so caring, her palliative Dr does everything from the heart she is so caring of Luna but also us her family. Any changes she makes on her medication she does it with so much thoughtfulness not just because “it’s her job” but she truly cares. It gives us so much comfort. It is more apparent now that Lunas time here, physically, will not be much longer. She has a different look in her face, but I still feel her. I spend my days talking, singing, loving up on her, sleeping with her little warm hand in mine. . I have had more time to talk to my other kids about what’s happening, our feelings, their thoughts. She was already in what they call “trapped” stage. She wasn’t talking, moving, but she could still hear & feel.. she was still a bit responsice here, she would react to touch, and sound. Looking back at this video, you could see her trying to see what we were doing. Since day one even as she became less responsive and fell into a “deeper sleep” and transitioned i would toak to her and explain everything until her last breath. To celebrate 500k followers on TikTok I thought I’d share what your incredible support has helped us to achieve last year in 2022 ✊🏾 There were a lot of miles covered and a lot of memories created in 2022. There were also a lot of trials, tests and tears… But in the same breath, so many triumphs. We ran a 100 mile ultra marathon, completed 5 marathons in 5 days across 5 capital cities and topped it off with a 6th in the London marathon. We cycled 1800 miles across Europe and 200 miles over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All to raise money for children with cancer. 𝗜𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 @The Azaylia Foundation • Donations to research and families crossed the £700,000 mark. • 3 new research donations to Oxford university, great ormand street hospital and university of Birmingham/Birmingham children’s hospital. • 8 new individual treatment donations for Lee, Rudi, Aaron, Jayden, Yuvraj, Ethan, Elaiya and Philo. • Launched a ground breaking PhD fund, to fund the next generation of leaders in childhood cancer. • Introduced our first community powered awareness and fundraising campaign, wear orange for Azaylia with over 100 schools participating. • Introduced our first change campaign as a result of the childhood cancer outcomes debate in parliament. • Raised over £200,000 with the support of our incredible community. From 3/12/24 we’ve been home for two weeks now thank you God. Delilah is still struggling to gain weight but she feels a little better each day. She’s slightly nauseous and isn’t eating much besides her tube feeds & fluids around the clock. She also has a cold another reason she’s probably feeling crumby. Sleeping most of the day, but I’m blaming the methadone for that. Hospice stopped by today for a quick check up, it went well. She asked Daddy to carry her, it was a sweet moment caught on camera. Winter couldn’t take the fact that daddy was carrying and touching her.
