One of the worst things you could say about a small town is “there’s nothing going on there,” because it discounts all of the richness of every day life. My small town is where my Grandparents met and decided to ranch, raise kids, teach school or serve in the local government. It’s where they opened businesses, lived their lives and are buried next to the rest of my kin. It’s where I cut my teeth, had my first kiss and my first heartbreak. Where I learned the value of friendship and the meaning of family. Small towns are abundant in so much that the wider world never offered me. Most importantly; my roots to return to. What does hometown mean to you? Would you say there’s “nothin’ goin’ on there”? #smalltownliving #rurallife #americathebeautiful #smalltownusa #smalltownlife #americangothic #westerngothic
