Story time: snuggle in to hear a passage from The Art of Thriving Online, my book about caring for our mental health when we choose to be online. Try full screen. Quilt-making has become a personal metaphor for how we can care for our mental health on social media. We don’t need to be experts with impeccable discipline. We can work softly, slowly, with an intentions towards warmth and connection. The best thing about writing this book has been learning to quilt art the same time. As an art therapist, I use creative practices to ground me in the present and remind me that I live in a body. As a chronically online human, I need art to keep me tethered to the things that give my life meaning outside of a screen. I’m eager to hear what you think!
