Next is Harrah’s. I booked a “Mountain View Queen Room”. These rooms appear to have been fairly recently renovated and with a base rate under $30, I was pleasantly surprised. With resort fee it was still under $100 making this a solid budget choice with an excellent location walkable to most attractions. Overall this resort is crowded and dated, but feels lively. This is considered a budget resort, so do not expect frills and luxury. I do not recommend the Strat and count it among the five worst resort hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. While it IS an affordable budget property and this lures in people shopping for a room at a low price, its too far from everything to walk and the neighborhood is bad. Safety issues aside, the property feels nice at first glance, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The negatives simply outweigh their limited amenities. Top of The World Steakhouse is overpriced and overhyped, the thrill rides and skyjump are always broken or closed and more of this property is abandoned than it should be. How is Fontainebleau Las Vegas doing 90 days after their star studded grand opening? While this is the slowest time of year and the property is still finding it’s clientele base, they’re staying busier than I expected. It takes time for a new property to catch on, which means there is ample opportunity for visitors who like to try the newest and best before they’re trending and you can still get deals on rooms and secure good restaurant reservations. Our newest resort is a fantastic choice and it is only going to get better. I realize it gets more views to create doomsday sensationalism.
