Bookings are taking me all over the UK for the next few months & I’m looking forward to some destination weddings, too!😍✈️ Choosing a venue is probably the biggest decision you’ll make when planning your wedding. Lots of my couples say they “just knew” when they visited their venue for the first time, whereas others had to carefully consider different options. Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind when making that big decision: - Venue before date! Unless the date is super important, don’t rule out your dream venue if they don’t have *that* day available. Popular, peak dates go quickly - if you can be a bit more flexible with your date/month/season then you have more of a chance of booking your perfect venue🥰 - What are the wet weather options?! Let’s face it, the UK weather is unpredictable. August 2023 was one of the wettest wedding months so far and many of the outdoor celebrations were moved indoors! On the other hand, October last year had a couple of randomly hot weekends and Drinks Receptions were unexpectedly moved out onto the terrace to embrace the Autumn sun! Consider what your venue can offer when it comes to indoor/outdoor set ups and if you’re happy with both options, even better😍 - Lots of venues have rules about confetti being indoors/outdoors or even being used at all. If you’re really keen to get big confetti shots, make sure you know what rules your venue has 🎉 - Is there space for you and your wedding parties to get ready at the venue on the morning of? If that’s important to you, bear in mind that some venues don’t offer that space! - If accessibility is a priority for you and your guests, make sure your venue can provide what you need. Have a look on wedding directories liked Hitched for lists of accessible venues or chat with your chosen venue team and don’t be afraid to give a list of what you need when choosing!
