DANCING RAISINS 💃🏻 🕺 This simple science experiment is so amazingly cool! 😎 I love that you only need a few things to do it too! Here’s what you need: - clear vase or mason jar - 1/4 cup of raisins - 1 tbsp of baking soda - 1/4 cup of vinegar - Water 💦 How to do it: Fill your vase or jar about 2/3 full of water. Add the raisins in. (Wash your raisins a few times before putting in so they don’t make the water cloudy) Add in the baking soda and spread evenly and mix until dissolved. You want it to dissolve so the water is not cloudy. Add your vinegar in and watch your raisins dance! Tip: use a tray in case your vinegar causes the water to overflow in your jar. Allow it to settle and your raisins will still dance. How Do the Raisins Dance? 🕺 The baking soda and vinegar reaction created carbon dioxide causing bubbles as the gas leaves the water. As the bubbles are created, the carbon dioxide bubbles attach to the raisins and bring the raisins to the surface of the water. The bubbles pop when they reach the surface and then the raisins sink back down to the bottom of the jar. Once on the bottom they collect more carbon dioxide bubbles and the process starts again.
