Homemade sandwich bread. In a large bowl, add 2 cups warm water, 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir then let bloom. Once your yeast is activated, add 2 teaspoons of salt, 1/4 cup of honey, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Stir then add 4.5 cups of flour - either bread or all purpose. Stir. Once your dough starts to stick to your spoon or spatula, knead with your hands - either in the bowl or on the counter. You may need to add more flour. I normally add roughly another half cup of flour. Once your flour is fully incorporated and your dough is no longer sticking to your hands, place your dough in a greased bowl, and cover with either Saran Wrap or a damp towel. Let rise for an hour or until doubled in size. After your dough has risen, it’s time to shape into loaves. Cut your dough in half and roll into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan and let rise for another 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes, it’s time to bake. Bake at 350 F for 35 minutes. Once out of the oven, top with melted butter. Allow your dough to cool before cutting.
