I know what you're thinking: "what is this 🤨 where's the recipe, Arash?" But bear with me for a second: what’s that thing you've been wanting to do, and have just been waiting for the right time? Don't worry - I'm not turning into a motivational speaker. I'm actually typing this as I prep a marinade and we'll be back to our scheduled programming tomorrow 😂 I've just been doing some reflecting after Madalina and I got back from Expo West (the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, CA.) As you likely know my wife and I gave up our full-time jobs to dedicate ourselves to @Kaizen Food Company. It all started because I wanted a GOOD lowcarb, high protein pasta and rice as I was on my 100lb weight loss journey and I just didn’t love anything else. Kaizen started in our home kitchen in Cincinnati. And it’s been a journey of continuous improvement since. We didn't have investors or famous advisers then (still don't) and we couldn’t afford a big fancy booth at the Expo, but we went and decided to get scrappy. As I walked around Expo, all I could think of was “look at all these other brands… they are so much better than us… what are we doing here...” Then I immediately put an end to the imposter syndrome. We networked as if our lives depended on it, from 8AM to 10:30PM every day We looked for free programs for emerging startups We scoured name tags and badges to seek out buyers of retailers who share our values and mission We didn’t have a booth, but we had guts and grit. I hope you take 2 things from this rant: 1. Your success looks different than other people’s success. 2. Start exactly where you are, and do the best you can with what you have. In any journey – personal or professional - everyone is running a different race, and every moment we give energy to someone else’s race takes away from mastering our own. And if you're not on that journey yet, don't be afraid to just start. Much love, Arash #goforit #juststart #smallbiz #smallbizowner #inspo #inspostories #lowcarb #ketorecipes
