“The will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth… Love is as love does. Love is an act of will-namely, both an intention and an action. Will also implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love” - bell hooks. • I believe that we are spirits having a human experience. I came here to be human, so I love myself and others by putting effort into our experience: good food, music, relationships, and memories. I take care of our physical and mental safety and well-being. I create an environment where we can be our whole selves. Where we can be weak, afraid, tired, awkward, excited, angry, numb, or quiet. I support and promote what matters to those I love. If it feeds us or makes us smile, I facilitate it. This feels like love to me. • Sound: @starry.steph • Side note: I recommend the f*ck out of this book. It’s a prerequisite for any loving relationship, including the one with yourself. • #nationalbookloversday Tag a friend who needs to hear this!
