For years and years, in fact most of my life, I thought there was something wrong with my body. I thought I wasn’t good enough due to how I looked. It consumed my mind and punished myself as a result. I know im not the only one… born in the 80’s and growing up in the 90’s meant we were taught to hate our bodies. We were literally taught it - from our family, to magazines, the tv and everyone around us. You had to adhere to what society seemed as beautiful, and that standard was high. So stupidly high and unrealistic, that it was practically impossible to reach. But now, at 41, I’ve come to realise that we are so much MORE than what we look like. Our bodies do amazing things every day, and for that we should be grateful. Our bodies are not here for other people, and we shouldn’t be looking for acceptance of our bodies from others.. as I can assure you, if you do, it will only lead to unhappiness 💔 YOU are ENOUGH just as you are ❤️ Underwear is gifted from @curvykate @lovebravissimo @simplybeuk @lovepanache - I will link them on my stories for you. #bodyacceptancejourney #bodyconfidencemovement #acceptyourself #bodyneutrality #loveyourbody #bodyimage #poorbodyimage #effyourbeautystandards #acceptingmyself #stretchmarksarebeautiful #stretchmarks #scars #plussize
