This one’s for all the GIRLS out there and WOMEN in SPORTS! 🚺🐣🏀💛 As a MAN who only started learning how to hoop at the late age of 21, I will never forget how disheartening and frustrating it was to be constantly clowned on for being trash 🗑️ until I reached a certain arbitrary level of skill, at which point, I was never again subject to that level of disrespect. And although I was frequently stereotyped for being garbage due to being FAT or ASIAN or SHORT…my GENDER was NEVER a reason for why people would assume I was trash! No one would ever say “You suck because you’re a guy!” And yet, this is the reality for all WOMEN in SPORTS, even for pros, and the fact that it’s so pervasive within Hoop Culture is just sad. What’s funny is that no one that’s actually an elite hooper would ever subscribe to the belief that Girls Can’t Hoop and are often the most supportive, which leads me to believe that 90% of men who think like that haven’t touched grass in years. This type of behavior is normalized on social media, but this was one of the only times I witnessed it first-hand IRL, so I had to share it with the world and hope that it can inspire the upcoming generation of WOMEN in SPORTS to keep DABBLING 🤗 Dabbly Ducks is in your corner for life 💛 #basketball #hoopers #sports #athletes #nba #basketballmoves
