These past few months have been the hardest of my life being diagnosed with @ehlers.danlos and deteriorating. Then being isolated from my sport by the IPC (@andrewparsonsg ). I end up in temporary accommodation because here in the Uk there is little to no support or awareness for EDS, so I became a statistic. I lost my livelihood and my home and my independence, I couldn’t even be with my peers and community because I am simply excluded for having EDS. (@ehlersdanlosuk ) Monday, they will break the first of both of my legs in an attempt to reduce dislocations. So today even though I have fallen over dozens of times I told @cprayofequine I’m exercising these horses. I needed to do something that I am good at so today despite having very bad walking. I made myself get off my arse. Though I had George to pick me up when I land on my face. So not all bad. We stopped for a chat with @horseandhound after this and Lucy was such a wonderful interviewer and the poor woman had her ear chatted off. Bless her she must have thought 💭 good god does she ever take a breath 🤣. We talked about how truly amazing @para_equestrian_ireland_ is and its members. 💚 I may be experiencing hardship right now but I’m grateful for days like today. Slow and steady still climbs the mountain and the impossible is still fun to do, impossible is still achievable with the right mindset. #eds #paradressagerider #paraequestrian #ehlersdanlossyndrome #zebra #zebrastrong #disabilty
