I wasn’t ready for the fight on my hands for Lillie’s education rights, I was so scared and worried as I had read all the bad about parents who had such a big fight on their hands. I got Lillie into a preschool early at two years old and I felt so guilty for putting her into a setting so early but I knew it was the right thing to do so it would help me get the support she needed in place, soon after she started they agreed she needed the help I knew she did, so I did her ehcp myself and our LA agreed she needed a ehcp but then my fight started. The fight for the support our children need is so wrong, there shouldn’t be a fight our children are human too and deserve the right just like everyone else to a education & I for one wasn’t standing for it, I wasn’t taking no for a answer for the support and help she needed. I was physically and mentally drained at this point because they told me they agreed she needed a special setting but there wasn’t no spaces. This is where I went to my papers and local news I organised a protest in Plymouth for rights for children with additional needs. Things needed to change & I will continue to fight every child with a disability that need the support they deserve. So again my post here is to stay if your here right now I want you to know it will be ok and things will be ok and your child’s future will be ok. because you will make sure of it and if you think you don’t have the fight in you trust me you do. ❤️ I didn’t think I had it in now and I’m am a part of send reform England fighting for every child with a disability to insure there future will be ok.. I’ve been in a very dark place though this journey and felt so alone at many times but one thing I have in my self is passion and fight and that’s what you have too.
