Tesla Model S Plaid: Dangerously Fast & Unstable. Seb took me for a lap and let me drive one. What can I say? Plenty of power and it's impressive as long as you have >50% SOC. I don't want to know what stock brakes do on a car, but based on others' experiences I can only assume: nothing. The worst of all is the air suspension. Under acceleration, the front lifts so much that it disappears and can randomly grip and yeet you to the side (or the wall). Unexpected and dangerous, especially on a bumpy surface such as the Nordschleife. 99% of the Plaid owners probably never going to go to the Ring. But they may think "if it can do this well on the Green Hell as advertised, then I can easily take it for a few laps around my local short track." And recent examples of crashed cars on tracks show it. Now before you gonna yell "but there is a Track Pack Now!!!" - great, it changes the brakes (which should come this way as standard imo) and the wheels. The bad suspension remains the same. That's all. Now before Tesla fanbois are going to label me as a hater: @UNPLUGGED PERFORMANCE Model 3 Performance was one of my favourite cars to drive. But I believe a manufacturer should deliver a balanced, safe product. #tesla #modelsplaid #plaid #nurburgring #Nordschleife #ev #elonmusk
