if you think a good lu rou fan 卤肉饭(taiwanese braised pork rice) requires hours and hours of cooking, this recipe is for you 🫶🏻 when i made this, william said "our future kids don't have to eat outside anymore", does this mean...i can't get out of the kitchen anymore since i have to cook 3 meals a day? 🤭 steps: 1. stir fry 150-200g chopped pork belly, remove from pan. add half an onion 🧅, stir fry. (you can use red onion too, any that you have ☺️) 2. add back the pork belly in, now add the aromatics & stir fry. - 1 cinammon stick - 1 star anise - 3 stick of clove - ginger 🫚, chop a few slices - 2 chilli 🌶️, stem removed - 1 stalk of spring onion, chop ~5cm 3. once fragrant, add my quadro [~1 tbsp each soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar] + 1 tsp sugar 4. once it’s browned, add in 1 cup water / until cover meat and simmer on low heat till softened and saucy (about 15 mins) serve with hot steamy rice 🍚 and feel free to add other sides like boiled eggs / pak choy, goes really well with this! 🙆🏻♀️ #taiwanese #braisedporkrice #chinesedishes #taiwanesefood #homecooking #easytaiwanesedishes #easyluroufan #luroufan #jiroufan #braisedporkbelly #chickenrice #wholesomeweeknightdinners #comfortfood #comfortdinner
