I used to think I had it all figured and knew exactly what I wanted in life. In my eyes, I was doing all the right things, knew all the right people, and all I wanted was the idea of more. I needed a better job, better home, and better life. I thought I wanted more money, more clothes, more friends, and more influence until I reached a season that I lacked all peace, all balance, all hope, and all conception of what was happening in my life. My aspirations and prayers went from God, give this, or I want this to God take this from me, or I need you tell me what to do. I wanted Him to take every pain, bad situation, and emotion away but-like my desires of getting more- He said NO or NOT RIGHT NOW. It later became clear that God wasn't changing things for me because He was trying to change me. Had He allowed me to keep certain people in my life, I'd still fel out of place and unappreciated. Had He freed me of my strugles and suffering, I wouldn't have the empathy, endurance, or lessons that I have today. I'm grateful for all of the answers of No because they aligned me for the many answers of Yes and purpose-filled progress.
