Today I got real personal, I shared something I thought I’d never have to. The full video is in our Bio. Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is something I’ve dealt with all my life. Certain textiles, materials and visuals freak me out and it makes me wonder if my children are developing or dealing with the same thing... SPD is more than physical touch, it affects you mentally and emotionally as well. I think at some point in my life growing up, I understood what was going on which caused sensory overload to the point of me taking extreme measures to combat it. Some Autism symptoms can start and stop at any time, as you experience different things in life, you develop new stims, sensitivity’s and behaviors. Autism is a spectrum and it’s possible to have more than one medical condition accompanied along side like myself. Not only do I struggle with the nature of Autism and SPD, I also suffer from OCD, ADHD and Selective Mutism. Although it’s a daily struggle, I continue to find the balance I need to keep going. #sensoryprocessingdisorder #autism #asd #autismawareness #adhd #specialneeds #spd #autismacceptance #aspergers #sensory #autismmom #anxiety #downsyndrome #autistic #disability #autismspectrumdisorder #autismlife #autismspectrum #occupationaltherapy #autismfamily #sensoryplay #autismsupport #specialneedsfamily #autismparent #autismdad #autismlove #autismparents #neurodiversity #differentnotless #autismcommunity
