To be honest I was a bit nervous to share my initial discomfort with our baby’s movements. Especially since I was looking forward to feeling him move SO MUCH! And then once I did, I immediately felt like something was wrong with me. “Shouldn’t I LOVE this feeling? Does this mean I will be a bad mom?” But after talking to multiple other women, I think it’s normal to be a little freaked out at first. But, like many things in pregnancy, this isn’t something that is openly talked about. I wished I had heard someone else be open about the strangeness, so it felt important to be that person and share my honesty here. It’s all just a part of this absolutely amazing and somewhat freaky process. I mean, in a few months I’ll be pushing a fully formed baby out of my body. UM.
