How I Do My Own $10 Once a Month Glue On Manicure I buy glue on nails from a drug store for around $10, and it's not the nails themselves, but the application method that helps them to last me for pretty much a month. (if you check all of my uploads in July you will see that I had the same manicure from July to August, using this method) Step 1: Soak hands in warm soapy water for 8 to 10 minutes. Push back cuticles with an orange stick or cuticle pusher and I like to clip excess cuticle (some don't like to clip them but I have a lot of extra cuticle and I get hang nails if I don't clip them) the further back you can push the cuticle, the longer your nail can grow out before it starts to develop a "gap" between the cuticle and the nail. Step 2: Optional, using a nail drill with a fine bit on a low setting, I go around the edges of each of my nails and remove excess cuticle further. Then I use a coarse bit on a low speed setting and file the surface of each nail thoroughly. Work slowly, grind the top of the entire nail, being careful to not gouge the nail surface. Rinse nails under warm water (no soap) and buff dry with a towel. If the nail surface has any shiny spots, drill to remove those, you want the nail to be textured, matte, and dry. any shiny spots especially around the edges are where your nail will be most likely to lift. Step 3: Determine the appropriate nail size for each finger, and starting from your index finger, apply 1 drop of glue to each nail. Place onto the natural nail and pinch and hold for 20 to 30 seconds on each nail. Work from index finger to pinky on each hand and do thumbs last. Step 4: Trim, file, and shape nails as desired. Try not to submerge in water for 8 to 10 hours after application to allow the glue to properly cure. #diynails #glueonnails #howidomynails #athomemanicure #kissnails #easynailsathome #10dollarmanicure
