Sometimes the process is prettier than the outcome. That’s definitely true in this case. I fully believe that every painting has an ugly stage, and the only escape is to keep working on it. It’s also good to not just show when things go flawlessly. This was an experiment in using the Grabie miniature brushes I received from @gr@grabieofficial do small scale Suminagashi, or Japanese paper marbling. Perhaps using potato starch to thicken the water contributed to the initially ugly state of this particular piece. Still, the process is beautiful. These 2 and 3 brush sizes did better than the smaller ones for keeping paint on the surface. I think the smallest of the miniature brushes was so small that it pierced right through the surface. You can see that in my last video. That said, it was really fun experimenting with small scale suminagashi. And my favorite thing about painting is that you can always paint over things you don’t like, so this will end up being cool by the time I’m done with it. #sumina#suminagashim#papermarbling##fail #craftp#artt#promotionr#giftfromtiktokshope#grabiee#grabiebrushesa#postcardarta#tinypaintingi#experimentt#artistsoftiktok
