Candy Yams MY way💕 At this point, I’m just cleaning out my camera roll. I really be holding out and overthinking too much. These are the Candy Yams from either last Thanksgiving or the year before, but here we are! I use to love to make my Candy Yams in the oven, but I started making them on the stove and my family LOVES them! As you can see, I dice mine instead of cutting them into disks, and I LAYER my ingredients(KEEP READING). I only use a pinch of water because as you know, Sweet Potatoes release A LOT of water. I cook them on Medium/Low heat with the pot covered HALF WAY or CRACKED, for about 10-12 minutes. DO NOT cover it or you will end up with a soupy mess! After that, I remove the lid and I only flip the yams ON THE TOP. Make sure you push them down into that hot lava so that they can get coated and candied just like the ones at the bottom. Cook them for another 10-12 minutes UNCOVERED. DO NOT TOUCH THEM! Take them off of the heat, add a half stick of butter cut into squares, cover the pot, and let it melt down! You end up with PERFECT Candy Yams. I promise you! Try it and let me know what you think!
