Edmar Casinillo from Magassi, Cabagan, Isabela, shared with the Inquirer that he had been a portrait artist since he was a grade eight student. As an architecture student now, he accepts painting commissions to help fund his studies. Casinillo has been accepting commission requests from multiple clients in the past. However, the client refused to pay for his hard work during this transaction. Since this was a first for him, he asked if the client could return his painting so he could use it for an exhibit instead, but the client responded that they had already burned the piece. The commissioned piece was initially priced at 10,000 pesos, but the client requested it to be priced lower at 8,000 pesos, which Casinillo accepted. As of this writing, Casinillo has tried to reach out to the client, asking to pay him back at least 3,000 pesos to make up for the cost of materials, and shared that the client has only paid 2,000 pesos. 📸: Edmar C.
