HORSE RESCUE: We got an urgent call from a worried couple about their senior horse with a severe back injury being bullied, so we drove 16 hours to bring Marley home to our animal sanctuary in California. He has an injured back from being ridden harshly by a trainer, and because he struggled to get to food and water at his boarding facilities, he's thin. Stories of Survival: Journey Journey 🐴 was traveling in a trailer that was carrying 29 horses to slaughter when it wrecked on the interstate. She was one of the lucky 15 survivors transported to @Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, Missouri. She avoided any major injuries from the crash, but most importantly, she avoided a cruel, inhumane death at an out-of-country horse slaughterhouse. With minimal wounds and support from staff and volunteers, she was able to trust people easily, and it was soon discovered that Journey was pregnant when she was on the slaughter-bound trailer. Ten months later, Journey gave birth to a foal named Cruiser. Once Cruiser was weaned, Journey was evaluated and made available for adoption! Journey now lives a happy life with another adopted horse, Chuck, and three human children. Journey is just one example of a fantastic horse who was slaughter-bound. Someone asked if hogan lays down on command and ive worked with him enough that if i ask ‘lay down’ quite often he does but i believe its because he knows every single for 2 1/2 years when he lays down he gets groomed scratched and plenty of treats so it’s something he enjoys and be relates being asked to lay down with reward same as a dog learns.. its also the easiest time for me to pick his hooves out sinnce hes not great holding them up for me..he usually lays down twice during the day late morning and late afternoon .. he loves his retirement routine here.. as you can see for a big older draft 1800lbs its not as graceful a lay down as the lighter athletic built horses 😂 and without fail he always lets out his hogan farts 😂 #hogan #hogansstory #horserescue #rescuehorse #trust #laydown #trained #horsesoftiktok #horsetok #hearthorse

If you listen close right after hogan little Flora lets out her first good morning whinny sounds like a chirping bird 🤣❤️ i just want to thank everyone for your follows and kind words and ill do a video explaining my role in fostering rescues and the reason i cant adopt holly and flora.. but want to let you all know they have an amazing approved adoptive home and theyll remain together forever under strict contract with the rescue theyll be living just not far from the rescue property on the island with lots of check ins and updates and can never be rehomed but would return to the rescue if anything arose where the adopter could no longer keep them.
