May 22nd 1998. It was this day and year that I was born. It’s officially my birthday so a wonderfully happy 25th birthday to me. ❤️ I am beyond grateful to have made it to a such milestone. My condition Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) means 25 is my average life expectancy so it is a huge thing for me. However, it is becoming more common to live beyond into your 30’s and 40’s with DMD. If I was born 30 years before my birth year 1998 I most likely will not have lived this long, but thanks to medical advancements, my equipment and excellent care I am blessed to be here today. For this I am so thankful for and I cannot express it enough in words. This life seems so long but in reality the years pass by so quickly and it is so short. Every single year is a blessing and holds so much value. So cherish every moment you have, live your life how you want and dream, savour the moments with your loved ones and appreciate all things big or small. Afterall, life is like ice cream, so enjoy it before it melts. ✨🦋 #25thbirthday #turning25 #25 #25th #birthday #happybirthday #celebration #milestone #duchennemusculardystrophy #duchennemusculardystrophyawareness #awareness #grateful #thankful #appreciationpost #fyp
