In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it seemed as if there was nothing Bo Jackson couldn't do. The two-sport athlete at Auburn University and Heisman Trophy-winning running back was drafted by the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Raiders. In 1990, he made history, becoming the first athlete to be chosen for the All-Star Game in baseball and the Pro Bowl in football. That season, Jackson hit 28 home runs and 78 RBIs in just 405 at-bats with the Royals. He also played as a running back for the Raiders, rushing for 700 yards and averaging 5.6 yards per carry in 10 games. Unfortunately, Jackson's career in the NFL was cut short due to a devastating injury he sustained in the 1991 NFL playoffs, which required hip replacement surgery. However, he made a remarkable comeback to baseball in 1993, playing for two seasons with the Chicago White Sox and California Angels and still showcasing flashes of his incredible athleticism. 👉 What other former baseball players had Hall of Fame talent but had their careers derailed by injury? ⚾️⚾️⚾️ #boknows #bojackson #raiders #ilovebaseball #baseballlove #baseballlifestyle #lasvegasraiders #baseballhistory #mlballstargame #baseballislife #baseball #vintagesportscards #baseballcards #sportscards #vintagebaseball #vintagesports #milwaukeebrewers #nostalgia #baseballgame #kcroyals #mlb #runningback #boknowsbaseball #kansascityroyals #nfl #auburntigers #1990sbaseball #1980sbaseball #boknowsfootball
