🍰My favorite tips and tricks for stacking cakes: -Use frozen or VERY cold cakes only. I don’t recommend stacking soft/warm cakes. -Use 4 big bubble straws or dowels for stability. Place them at all 4 corners. Don’t place one thru the center. -For added protection, stability, and easy serving, you can keep a cake board (that is smaller than the original cake) on each cake tier. Stack like you normally would right on top of the dowels you just placed. -Something that I do, and recommend is frost each individual tier BEFORE stacking. I do not like frosting a cake while it’s stacked. In my opinion it’s a lot easier in multiple ways. On the other hand, I have friends that love frosting a cake after it’s been stacked, and so it all comes down to preference and testing out what works best for you and your style. -Once each individual cake tier is frosted, put in freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes. This will help hold the shape of the cake and the frosting during the stacking process. (Trust me!) -When you are ready to stack the cake, go slow and steady. Don’t rush the process!! -Start by removing the base and middle cakes from freezer, you can apply a small thin layer of frosting in the center of your large cake to act as glue. Now stack. Continue this process until you’ve stacked all of your cakes. Make sure they are all centered well. -Final step is get a large wooden dowel that is about 1” shorter than the cake and stick down the center of the entire cake. It will go thru each individual layer and touch the cake board. Once you’ve placed the dowel, fill in the hole in the center with frosting and smooth out. -Add your toppers or extra decorations. 🍰 I hope these tips have helped you understand the stacking process. If you have any questions about it, put them in the comments. I would love to help however I can. 🍰 #theblondewhobakes #theblondewhobakescakes #cakes #cakesoftiktok #cake #cakevideo #food #foodie #cakedecorating #howtostackcake #dessert #learnontiktok #tiktokpartner #cakeoftheday🍰
