I really want to make this room looking vintagey thats why i brought in wallpaper. I want to like installing wallpaper a lot just like how i want to like my husband today but its not F* working!! Wall paper is pretty but F* its hard to put it up and this is not even a big wall.Grrrr!! Or maybe im too mad and today isnt just a good day to do wall paper but whatever! What am I gonna do? I do not know why we always run out of space in the fridge because its just the 3 of us living here but I am tired of it so heres our solution.. BUY A SECOND ONE!!😆 And the best part is?? RECAP!! So let’s have a recap of this build. When i was doing the laundry room i closed up some space so i can extend the pantry and make it deeper towards the laundry room but after we demo the walls in the pantry side, we saw the roof header being too low and it was awkward to work with plus it was a load bearing wall which we arent comfortable to work with. So we decided to close up that room AGAIN and will make it an office nxt project and we extended the pantry forward instead BUT we sacrificed 1 big window which was not a hard decision to make. Carefully measured each cabinets for small appliances, Build my own shelving, added my DIY shiplap and made an accent slat wall and lots and lots of painting that i thought i would nvr get it done anymore😆 But after 3wks, working on it 12hrs/day including wkends, THIS IS IT! Part 8!! Guuyyyys!! I finally finished this walk in pantry!! Oh my god! Finally! Finally its done!! I mean i still need to build the barn doors but i am still waiting for the hardware kit.. Anyways, I have nvr thought that I could build such a thing😆 I am super happy with how it turned out! I love all the details i did in this room, it took a while than I expected but all that effort were sooo worth it! Yaaaaay! You probably are wondering why did she not remove the window before covering it up😬 Well, its winter and we do not wanna mess with the outside siding of the house but we plan on tackling that nxt summer so this way we dont need to cover the outside wall with osb and siding so this is just temporary. HOPEFULLY!🤣😂 Btw, I got sick the nxt day putting up dry wall. LAUNDRY ROOM RENO RECAP!! Reminding us all pf what we started. We closed up a door that leads to the backyard, closed up 2 windows that doesnt make sense. Added false floors to match the floors to the rest of the house. Added a wall so i can extend the future pantry, open up a wall in the hallway side so i can open the machines like a french door. Added beams as a support for the load bearing wall.. did my aesthetics, lots of ripping off plywood for my dream slat wall and shiplap and here it is now!! Part 14|| The FINAL REVEAL of making a functional laundry room!! Finally we are done!! This project took us exactly 30days and thats short for a first time DIYers plus a toddler😄 But im sooo glad we did it!! We r so happy with the result, floors are now same level to the rest of the house, i can finally open the machines in the way i want to!!!😁 So a lot of you suggested to add a barn door and i love the idea however im afraid its going to make the hall way tight again so i will wait once we finish the hallway and see how much space we have for a barn door.. I used NATURAL stain bcos i really love the natural wood tone. For the beams tho, i can see the wood filler so i might stain it darker idk yet but for now, i really like the natural color in this room with some greenery..what do u think of the curtains?? I can hide the shelves if it gets too crowded with all the dirty clothes, and open it if its tidy again😁. For the base boards, i ripped off 2x4’s, sand and stain with natural color and done!!Husband will be working on adding some strip lights that is kinda hidden so its not bright right in your eyes when u pass this room to the bathroom and master bed, since this room is so open. And that will be for an actual lighting here bcos we dont want it super bright since later on we will add more lights in the hallway anyways.So, next project will be the hall way and pantry!!! Im so eager to do it but i want to take a wk off, we r exhausted!!
