A common question I get is “What’s the point of hiring help overnight if I’m breastfeeding?” My answer to that is, many of my clients do breastfeed and it’s still SO helpful having help. Some babies will eat just fine, but it’s getting them to go to sleep that can be the hard part. They may be 👶🏽 gassy, so you’re doing leg exercises to relieve discomfort 👶🏽 spitting up constantly, so you’re wiping them and changing their clothes or bedsheet 👶🏽 pooping a ton, so you’re changing many diapers 👶🏽 super noisy, so you’re constantly check on baby That’s where I come in!! I will hand baby to you to feed and I will handle the burping, changing, swaddling, and soothing back to sleep. There have been many nights where mom is peacefully asleep after breastfeeding, but I’m awake most of the night helping baby fall back asleep! Or if you’re pumping, that’s a perfect reason for me to help you! I will 🍼 Bring the pump to you 🍼 Take the pump from you 🍼 Transfer milk to a bottle or bag and label and refrigerate 🍼 Bottle feed baby 🍼 Wash and sterilize all bottle and pump parts Mamas, would you hire a postpartum doula?? *I’m not a nurse or a medical professional.
